My name is Jodene, I am Connor's mum. I have lots of global connections because some of my best friends live in other parts of the world. I have travelled to more than 20 different countries for holidays and I lived in England when I was much younger. Plus I work for Vodafone which is a company that has offices all over the world and I talk to people in different countries almost every day.
I have a global connection to the UK as I am going to live and work there at the end of this month! I have lived in Paris, France also for three months, and I have family in Ireland, so I hope to go there soon.
Hi Connor We are Chris and Lyn and we met your Mum and Dad when they were travelling in England. We all worked together for a while and then they came to stay with us for a few months! You must come and visit us one day!
Hi my name is Claire, I work with Connor's mum, Jodene. My global connection is that I am was born and raised in England, and moved to New Zealand when I was a teenager. My grandad was born in New Zealand, but when he was 6 years old his mum got very homesick for England, and they moved back home, travelling on a boat.
I have a lot of friends who live overseas, in England, Saudi Arabia, Canada, America, Qatar,Australia, Singapore, Dublin, and my Dad lives in England. I stay in touch with my friends and family around the world using Facebook, Twitter, and email.
My name is Jo, and I'm a friend of Connor's mum. My global connections come from having lived in lots of different countries, including the UK and Canada. I am now living in New Zealand. I have travelled to lots of cities around the world, but I still have to explore Africa and South America. Through my studies, work and travels I have met many different people from all kinds of backgrounds. I believe that the world is shrinking because of the way we communicate through the internet and via phone. I will be sending this blog to friends around the world for them to add their global connections.
My name is Kim, I am one of Connor's mums friends. I live at Manly Beach in Sydney and moved here about 3 years ago. I have been on holidays to a lot of other countries around the world like America, France and Italy.
I work at Optus in Australia which has a bigger global connection also, as Optus is owned by a company called Singtel who are based in Singapore.
My name is Pauline and I am Connor's Nana. My Global connection is Australia because that is where Poppa and I took Connor for a lovely holiday. We did lots of things like whale watching in Brisbane. I have traveled to many countries like America, Canada, Fiji and Indonesia. I would like to travel to France and Ireland in the future. I might even travel to the UK to visit with Kelly.
My name is Brett and I am Connor's step dad. I have lived and worked overseas before and deal with international companies every day at work. I am glad we are part of an international community as I very much enjoy different types of international food - I know Connor likes Italian food a lot as well! I also like travelling and like to watch football from both NZ and other countries like England.
I am really looking forward to the Bahrain football team visiting New Zealand in a few weeks for a world cup qualifier.
Hi my name is Riley.I am Connors friend. My global connection is Australia because my dad is from Australia.Countries I have been to:Samoa,America,Canada and Australia.I like watching international football. My favourite international team is Portugal and my favourite english premiership team is Arsenal.
My name is Olivia and I'm friends with Connor, his mum and his step dad. I have visited lots of countries and eat lots of international food! My Poppa's family is Scottish but he never taught us how to play the bag pipes! I have just got back from a holiday in Australia and am already planning my next international trip - somewhere warm and sunny!
My name is Jen and I am friends with Connor's mom. I am, by nature, a definition of 'global connection.' My dad is from Germany and my mom is from Indonesia. I went to school in Australia and uni in France and England. My boyfriend is from New Zealand and that's where I've lived for the past 6 years, although I am now living in England. My favorite food is Indian (although Indonesian food can't be beat).
I've been lucky enough to visit many of the countries in Asia, Europe and South America but would still love to travel to Africa and North America.
I'm happy the world is better connected these days through the advances in internet and technology because I can keep in touch with friends and family much more easily.
My name is Liz and I am Connor's friend. I have a few global connections. I used to live in Hawaii when I was younger so have many happy memories of it and have been back a couple of times to visit. My best memory of Hawaii is how warm it was and the beautiful beaches they have there. I also have lots of friends living overseas in the UK, Canada, Australia & Italy.
